The center develops technologies to evaluate disaster risk - such as earthquakes, tsunami and floods in regional areas, control earthquake damages of building group, raise a high accuracy tsunami warning and analyze tsunami systems.
The organization has no registered commitments.
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.

２０１７年に始まった「世界防災フォーラム」も今回で４ 回⽬を迎えます。世界防災フォーラムは 国内外、産官学民全てのセクターの方々が東日本大震災を経験した東北の地に集い、防災の解決策を議論していく場です。
「知りたいみやぎ復興の知恵（旧「3.11げんば探訪」）」は、復興に向けた歩み のなかで、最前線で活躍されている方からの講話をいただき、東日本大震災におけ る新たな「学び」「気づき」を参加者の皆さんと共有します。

国立国会図書館と東北大学災害科学国際研究所が、「東日本大震災アーカイブシンポジウム」を開催します。
当シンポジウムでは、東日本大震災という日本史上でも稀なナショナル・クライシスの記憶、伝承という課題を考察、討議する。その記憶形成、伝承の具体的ツールとして、被災地での紙芝居上演、デジタル・アーカイブスを検証する。
1923年関東大震災と2011年東日本大震災について議論し、社会の防災力向上を目指すシンポジウムです。関連企画展も行われます。
This is a joint online seminar on the 2023 Earthquakes in Southern Türkiye and Syria, - Current Status and Issues After 6 Months, strategy for recovery, reconstruction, BBB, and Resilient society.
第3回世界防災フォーラムでは以下の２点にフォーカスをします。1点目は、民間セクターおよび若年層により積極的に参画してもらうことです。2点目は、いくつかテーマを決めて、特に統合的・ 学際的なアプローチに関する企画度の高いセッションを行い、参加者の増加と交流を促すことです。 世界防災フォーラムとしての防災の具体的な解決策を産官学民の対話の中から、女性や若者の視点を大切にし、世界に向けて情報発信してまいります。
