Post-disaster needs assessments following Cyclones Idai and Kenneth and the ensuing floods estimate total recovery needs for Mozambique, Zimbabwe, and Malawi at $3.2 billion USD, $767 million USD and $370.5 million USD, respectively. - Cyclone Gita 2018
The government of Tonga conducted a post-disaster rapid assessment which showed the total economic value of damage and losses estimated at T$356.1 million (equivalent to US$164.1 million), about 37.8 percent of the nominal gross domestic product of Tonga. - Hurricane Maria 2017
Hurricane Maria was subsequently one of the worst disasters in Puerto Rico’s history, killing at least 2,975 people based on the independent study conducted by George Washington University. - Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda), Philippines 2013
The overall damages and losses from the typhoon were estimated at US$12.9 billion and the needs for recovery and reconstruction were estimated at US$8.2 billion.
